2026 haunted houses guide for Colorado Springs, with a spooky house, pumpkins, moon, and mountain scenery.

Best Haunted Houses in Colorado Springs: Your 2026 Halloween Guide

Haunted Houses Shannon Price October 1, 2026

I can make it feel like a spooky October story while still working as a Colorado Springs real estate/lifestyle blog. I checked the 2026 season so the featured attractions and addresses are current. Here’s a ready-to-publish version:

The Best Haunted Houses in Colorado Springs & Nearby: Your 2026 Guide to a Frightfully Good October 🎃

October has arrived in Colorado Springs.

The days are getting shorter. The air has that unmistakable Colorado chill. Leaves crunch beneath your feet, pumpkins are appearing on front porches…and after the sun disappears behind the mountains, things start to feel just a little different.

Maybe that sound outside really was just the wind.

Maybe. 👻

If you’re looking for something scarier than today’s mortgage rates, grab your bravest friends, leave the porch light on, and come with me.

We’re exploring some of the best haunted houses and spooky Halloween attractions in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area for 2026.

And whatever you do…

Don’t go alone.

👻 HellScream Haunted House — Colorado Springs

📍 3021 N. Hancock Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80907

There’s an old rule in horror movies: when you find a creepy building filled with strange noises, dark stairways and things hiding in the shadows…

Don’t go inside.

At HellScream, going inside is exactly the point.

This multi-story haunted house has been terrifying Colorado Springs since 2012, and it isn’t your neighborhood garage decorated with a few cobwebs and a plastic skeleton.

You’ll make your way through multiple levels filled with elaborate sets, darkness, disturbing characters and plenty of moments when you’ll seriously reconsider the decisions that brought you here.

HellScream opens for the 2026 Halloween season on September 25, with select nights throughout the fall.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻👻👻
Best for: Serious haunted-house fans and groups of friends who actually enjoy being terrified.

And remember: if someone whispers your name from a dark hallway…

Keep walking.

☠️ The Fear Complex — Colorado Springs

📍 2220 E. Bijou St., Colorado Springs, CO 80909

Imagine walking into one haunted attraction.

Then discovering there are four.

Welcome to The Fear Complex.

One ticket takes you through four different nightmare-filled experiences: The Sanitarium, Haunted Mines, Sinister Manor and the 3-D Carnival.

Yes, there’s a creepy carnival.

Because apparently regular clowns weren’t unsettling enough.

The Haunted Mines sends you into abandoned mining tunnels filled with creatures and claustrophobic spaces, while Sinister Manor has all the ingredients of the house every horror movie tells you never to enter.

And then there’s The Sanitarium.

We’ll just leave it at that.

The Fear Complex opens September 25 for its 2026 season and also has a Midway with games and food where you can regain your courage before heading into the darkness.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻👻👻
Best for: Anyone who wants several different scares in one night.

🕯️ Haunted Lantern Tour at Cave of the Winds — Manitou Springs

📍 100 Cave of the Winds Rd., Manitou Springs, CO 80829

Now things get interesting.

Because this one doesn’t take place inside a building created to look creepy.

You’re going underground.

Armed with only a handheld lantern, you’ll venture deep into the caves beneath Manitou Springs while hearing ghost stories, unexplained tales and some of the darker history surrounding the caverns.

There are no bright hallways waiting around the corner.

Just narrow passages, shadows, rock walls…

…and whatever your imagination decides is standing behind you.

The Haunted Lantern Tour is a great choice if you love creepy history and ghost stories but aren’t necessarily looking for actors jumping out at you every thirty seconds.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻👻
Best for: Ghost-story lovers, history buffs and anyone who thinks exploring a cave by lantern at night sounds like a perfectly reasonable life decision.

🧟 Aftermath Haunted House — Cañon City

📍 575 Ash St., Cañon City, CO 81212

About an hour south of Colorado Springs, something is waiting in Cañon City.

And judging by the name Aftermath, I’m guessing it’s nothing friendly.

This community haunted attraction returns on select Saturdays in October 2026, including October 3, 10, 17 and 24, with something special also being planned for Halloween night.

Aftermath combines the feel of an outdoor haunted trail with indoor haunted-house scenes, which means you’re not safely tucked inside one building the entire time.

You’re walking through the darkness.

Outside.

At night.

You know—the beginning of every horror movie where you’re yelling at the characters:

“WHY ARE YOU GOING IN THERE?!”

General admission is listed at $20 for the 2026 season.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻👻
Best for: Anyone willing to take a little Halloween road trip from Colorado Springs.

😈 Terror at the Warehouse — Florence

📍 109 W. Front St., Florence, CO 81226

There’s something inherently creepy about an old warehouse after dark.

Add monsters, elaborate props, dark corridors and jump scares?

Now you’ve got Halloween.

Terror at the Warehouse in Florence offers more of that classic haunted-house experience: enclosed spaces, darkness, unexpected scares and some surprisingly massive creatures waiting inside.

Florence is roughly an hour from Colorado Springs, making this another fun option for a spooky October road trip.

Just make sure everyone who gets into the car in Colorado Springs…

gets back into the car afterward.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻👻
Best for: Fans of classic haunted houses, big props and old-school jump scares.

🕯️ BONUS: Haunted Manitou — Manitou Springs

📍 Meeting area: Memorial Park, 502 Manitou Ave., Manitou Springs, CO 80829

Maybe you don’t want fake ghosts.

Maybe you want stories about the ones people claim are already here.

That’s when you head to Manitou Springs.

Haunted Manitou takes you through historic downtown Manitou Springs after dark while guides share macabre history, local legends and stories of reported paranormal activity.

And honestly, Manitou doesn’t need much help looking like the setting of a Halloween movie in October.

Historic buildings.

Narrow streets.

Victorian architecture.

Mountains looming over town.

And plenty of stories about people who supposedly never left.

Spook factor: 👻👻👻
Best for: Couples, visitors, history lovers and people who prefer their ghosts with a little local history.

🎃 Make a Night of It

One of my favorite things about living in the Colorado Springs area is that fall actually feels like fall here.

You can spend the afternoon watching the leaves change against the mountains, grab dinner at a local restaurant, throw on a sweater and then spend the evening voluntarily allowing strangers dressed as monsters to chase you through a dark building.

What could be more wholesome?

If you’re new to Colorado Springs, October is also a fantastic time to explore some of the communities surrounding the city. Take a drive through Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, Monument, Cañon City or Florence, and you’ll quickly discover that there’s much more to living along the Front Range than our famous mountain views.

Although those views certainly don’t hurt.

🏡 Looking for a Different Kind of House?

If you’d rather tour a house where nobody jumps out of the closet, I can help with that too.

I’m Shannon Price, a Colorado Springs Realtor, and I love helping buyers discover not only homes, but the neighborhoods, trails, restaurants, events and hidden gems that make living in Colorado Springs so much fun.

Whether you’re relocating to Colorado Springs, moving across town or just starting to wonder what your next home might look like, I’d love to help you explore your options.

And unlike the haunted houses on this list…

the homes I show come with an inspection. 😉

Happy Halloween, Colorado Springs! 🎃👻

Always check each attraction’s official website before heading out. Haunted-house operating nights, hours, ticket availability and event details can change throughout the Halloween season.

The 2026 details for HellScream and The Fear Complex—including their September 25 openings and addresses—are confirmed by their current season information.  Aftermath’s Cañon City dates and location are also posted for October 2026, and Visit Colorado Springs lists the Haunted Lantern Tour among this year’s Halloween activities.
